First and foremost, you need to have Flash Player 8 (or later) installed. Even on dial-up, Flash Player installs in under 5 minutes, and is necessary for the necklace designer to function properly. If you're unsure about what version of Flash Player you have installed, you can right-click on the bead designer as it is loading up and the menu that pops up should say "About Flash Player X" (where "X" is the version you have).
If you need to upgrade Flash Player, click here and a new window will open up that will help you install it. You may need to close and re-open your web browser (Internet Explorer) for the update to complete.
Ok, now back to the fun stuff. You can start by creating your own pattern. Select the bead you want to color by clicking on it. The bead you have selected will have a star on it (signifying your selection) until another bead is chosen. You can also de-select a bead by clicking anywhere on the background of the necklace designer.
With your chosen bead selected, click the color you want it to be. You can always go back and change colors later, so have fun and see how creative you can be!
As you change the colors of the beads in your pattern, the preview of the full necklace will be automatically updated so you can get an idea about how it will look.
You can also choose whether your necklace will have gold or silver bells, the color of the leather string, and even the color of your horse, so you can be sure to choose a flattering palette for your equine.
When you are happy with your design, type in a name for it and click the "Save" button.
Once you save a pattern, it is added to the "My Saved Patterns" list, and remains there (even if you log out) until you choose to delete it.
To get your creative juices flowing, or if you're just simply in love with one of our featured patterns, you can choose a design from the "Featured Patterns" menu.
To purchase a horse necklace, load the necklace you want to order, choose your size (see how to measure) and click the "Buy Now" button. Log into PayPal (if needed) and click the "Continue Shopping" button from within the Paypal interface (or just the "Back" button in your web browser) to return to the bead designer (the necklaces you've added will be saved in your shopping cart until your order is placed).
You can also click "View Cart / Checkout" to keep track of items you want to purchase, and ultimately to place your order once you are finished shopping.
